China Glaze Secret Peri-wink-le

I know I said there wouldn't be any new NOTD pics today... but I just couldn't help myself :)

So I used China Glaze's Secret Periwinkle. Three coats of its beautiful smoothness. Application was perfecto with this polish.

Then I continued to do a Konad design on it. I had the idea in my head to have it sort of graduated,  from periwinkle to white. If you enlarge it you might be able to see a little bit of it but it didn't really turn out all that well.

Should I do a tutorial on gradient designs too? They're always good fun :D I used this technique recently on the Tool mani with Devotion and Periwinkle ♥

*sigh* why did I ever remove that awesome manicure...

Oh! Winner to come shortly!

  1. So I'd love to learn more aobut you and your nails. You seem to have come a long way, have you always had beautiful nails? How did you get them to how they are now. I think you did an entry about this kind of thing once... I'm so jealous mine keep splitting. I'd love to see more advice.

  2. Hey Jess! Yes I did do an entry to try and encourage natural nails :D

I have been a nail biter for 17 years! (im almost 18). I have only ever started to get good nails near the end of 2008. They usually started to break when I got little tips and chip at the sides. So I think you *definately* need to start off with a great base coat treatment.

I will make another post about this as some of my products have changed :) What base are you using at the moment Jess?

  3. I was using a revlon base&top coat. I tried a revitanail base but it was so..... peely, everything peeled off :S Switched to OPI natural nail strengthener, which is probably less potent than the nail envy range. It was the closest I could find in this Aussie inland city.

Will have to start shopping online.

I have also started taking silicea (silica suppliment)and vitamin 'biotin'. Too early to see results though.

I can't believe you've only reccently started growing, they look great like they've been that way for years. Kudos.

  4. Aw thankyou so much!

I agree about the online shopping, the best way to get the best stuff :) I am currently using Nailtek Citra 3, its amazing but too early to see if its making any real difference. I was using OPI Maitenance, that was a really good treatment for my nails.

  5. So, so pretty. Your nails are so beautiful. The color and design look like Spring. I love the color and I do have it, but haven't used it yet. I have so many untried. I can't believe you matched your counter. Very pretty.
